Dear Delegates to IMAM / FIMA Scientific Convention 2023, Putrajaya, Malaysia.

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome everyone to the 40th Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) Council Meeting and 24th IMAM Annual Scientific Conference, 2023 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. This is a historic event as it marks the 40th council meeting of FIMA, the umbrella organization of Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) around the world.

As the President of Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM) and the chairman of the organizing committee, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the international delegates, speakers, sponsors, partners, staff and volunteers a who have made this event possible. Your presence and participation are valuable to the success of this conference.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the Muslim World”. We have prepared a rich and diverse program that covers various topics related to the theme, Islamic medicine, such as ethics, education, research, innovation, leadership, humanitarian work and more. We hope that this conference will provide a platform for fruitful exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices among the participants, as well as foster collaboration and networking among Islamic medical professionals and institutions.

It is so unfortunate; the meeting will be conducted in the background of despicable humanitarian catastrophe affecting thousands of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. I believe relief efforts and financial aid has already taken place among FIMA members to help ease the burden and suffering of
the Palestinians. Let us pray to Allah almighty to grant peace and victory to the Palestinians and to every human being in the world affected by gross injustice and conflict. 

We also hope that you will enjoy your stay in Putrajaya, the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. Putrajaya is a modern city that showcases the beauty and harmony of Islamic architecture and culture. There are many attractions and activities that you can explore during your free time, such as visiting the majestic mosques, gardens and bridges, taking a cruise on the lake, shopping at the malls and markets, or sampling the delicious local cuisine.

Once again, I welcome you all to FIMA 2023 and I wish you a productive and memorable conference.
