Introduction

**Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Akram bin Dato' Dahaman** is a distinguished scholar in the field of Islamic jurisprudence and fatwa management, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Pusat Pengajian Bahasa, Tamadun & Falsafah (SLCP) at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). His expertise encompasses the management of fatwa, principles of jurisprudence, and the sociology of Islamic jurisprudence, making him a pivotal figure in the academic and religious discourse in Malaysia.

Dr. Akram earned his PhD in Fatwa and Fatwa Management from Universiti Malaya in 2012, following a Master of Syariah in Fiqh & Usul Fiqh from the same university in 2006. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Shariah (Hons) from Universiti Yarmouk, Jordan, in 2000. Throughout his career, Dr. Akram has held numerous leadership roles, including Chairman of the Consultation Committee at UUM and Deputy Rector for Academic & International Affairs at Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis. His leadership extends beyond academia as he actively contributes to the Islamic community, serving on the Fatwa Committee for the state of Perlis and as a judge at the Syariah Court of Appeal.

A prolific researcher and author, Dr. Akram has published over 30 journal articles, seven books, and numerous policy papers. His recent work includes innovative research on the management and acceptance of fatwas in Malaysia, the role of Islamic institutions in pandemic management, and comprehensive models for zakat distribution. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Best Presenter Award at the International Conference on Green Sustainable Development 2024. Dr. Akram's expertise and research have made significant impacts on Islamic scholarship, policy-making, and community leadership, establishing him as a highly respected voice in his field.
