Introduction

**Sahibus Samahah Profesor Dato' Arif Perkasa Dr. Mohd Asri Bin Zainul Abidin** is a distinguished scholar currently serving as the Mufti of the State Government of Perlis, a position he has held since 2015. With an extensive background in Islamic studies, Dr. Mohd Asri brings profound expertise in **Al-Quran and Sunna**, specializing in Hadith. His leadership within the Mufti Department of Perlis is marked by his commitment to Islamic jurisprudence and religious guidance.

Dr. Mohd Asri earned his B.A (Hons) in Arabic and Syariah from the University of Jordan in 1995, followed by a Master's degree in Islamic Studies from University Science Malaysia in 1999. He completed his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies, focusing on Al-Quran and Sunna, at the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2003. His doctoral thesis, titled "Sabab Wurud al-Hadith: Dirasat Tahliliyah Ma' al-Tarkiz al-Khas 'Ala al-Dawabid wa AlMa'ayir," underscores his analytical approach to the reasons and occasions of Prophetic Hadiths.

Not only has Dr. Mohd Asri been recognized with numerous awards such as the **Medal of Seri Sirajudin Perlis** and the **Royal Medal of Perlis's Palace**, but he has also held influential roles, including serving as a Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. As Chairman of the Perlis Fatwa Council and other strategic committees, he has significantly contributed to the religious and educational landscape. His research interests and leadership in Islamic administration and education reform continue to influence policy and practice, making him a respected voice in both academic and religious communities.
