Public Health Medicine Specialist, IIUM

Biography

Farhan Rusli is a Public Health Medicine Specialist who focusses on Health Policy, Economics and Health Services Management. He completed his Masters in Public Health and subsequently his Doctor of Public Health in 2018. On the academic front he has published various articles in scientific journals, newspapers on subjects pertaining to public health and covid-19. He has also been appointed as a Distinguished Fellow for the Universiti Islam Malaysia (UIM). Among others he has also been awarded grants from the United States Government to conduct research on migrant and refugee communities.

On the field, he has been actively involved in Malaysia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He served as a public health ground commander in Kuala Lumpur for EMCO 3, 4 & 5 with daily field coordination and pandemic response. He served as the Medical Lead for the Immigration Department in MAEPS-PKRC. He sits as the Public Health Advisor for the Immigration Department, Dang Wangi Police Department and Penang State Government. He served as the Technical Working Group Lead under the Expert Advisory Group to the Prime Minister. He is also currently serving as the Director of the Selangor Task Force Operations that specifically deals with the Selangor FTTIS program and other public health related activities. He has also been appointed as a member in the National Rapid Response Task Force under the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
