Introduction

Dr. Zuraidah Binti Che' Man is a Malaysian medical professional and researcher specializing in emergency medicine and public health. Born on July 8, 1977, she has built an impressive career combining clinical practice, research, and academia.

Dr. Zuraidah completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 2003. She furthered her education with a Master of Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 2012, and recently earned her Ph.D. in Community Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology from the same institution in 2023.

Currently, Dr. Zuraidah serves as a Medical Officer at the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she has been working in the Department of Emergency Medicine since 2006. She is also affiliated with the hospital's Clinical Epidemiological Unit (CEU) and has previously contributed to the Research Support Unit and Service Quality Unit.

Throughout her career, Dr. Zuraidah has been actively involved in numerous research projects, focusing on areas such as stroke care, emergency medicine, and public health. She has participated in 38 research projects with a cumulative grant of MYR 792,487. Her research work has led to several publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences.

Dr. Zuraidah's expertise is recognized in various capacities. She serves as a peer reviewer for the Cureus Journal of Medical Sciences, a research supervisor for undergraduate and postgraduate students at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and a part-time lecturer in emergency medicine and research methodology. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Cochrane Collaboration, Malaysian Stroke Academy, and the Qualitative Research Association of Malaysia.

Her contributions to the field have been acknowledged with several awards, including the Besrour Prize for oral presentation at the WONCA Asia Pacific Regional Conference in 2022 and multiple recognitions for best clinical poster presentations at Malaysian Stroke Conferences.

Dr. Zuraidah is multilingual, speaking Malay and English fluently. Her diverse skill set includes proficiency in various statistical software and qualitative research methodologies. Through her work, Dr. Zuraidah continues to make significant contributions to emergency medicine, stroke care, and public health research in Malaysia and beyond.
