Introduction
Dr Ikram is a medical doctor at An-Nur Specialist hospital in Bangi and has vast experience in the humanitarian world. He was the Vice-President of MERCY Malaysia from 2004 to 2014 and has volunteered in missions in conflict areas such as in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Philippines, Myanmar, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq and Palestine. For natural disasters, Dr Ikram also lend his hands during the Indian Ocean Tsunami, earthquake in Indonesia and Nepal, and Flood in Cambodia.
Apart from international missions, he also contributes to local health related community services for the poor and underprivileged in Sabah and rural areas, the Rohingya refugees in Klang and during flood relief in Johor, Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
With his experience, Dr Ikram frequently conducted training sessions and humanitarian courses for university students, government agencies and the public.
Currently Dr Ikram is one of the Board of Trustees in Humanitarian Care Malaysia, an organization formed to respond to various disaster calamities and non disaster situations, locally and internationally.
