Dr. Mafeitzeral Mamat is a distinguished Malaysian anaesthesiologist with a career spanning over two decades. Born on October 24, 1976, in Selangor, Malaysia, Dr. Mamat has built an impressive career that combines medical expertise, academic pursuits, and humanitarian service.

Dr. Mamat's educational journey reflects his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. He completed his M.B.B.S. and Advanced Diploma in Medical Sciences from the International Medical University, Malaysia in 2003. In 2010, he obtained his Master of Anaesthesiology from the University of Malaya. Seeking to further specialize, he pursued a Fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia & Simulation at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia from 2012 to 2013. The following year, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Most recently, in 2021, he completed an MBA in Healthcare Management with Distinction from the International Medical University, Malaysia, demonstrating his interest in combining medical expertise with management skills.

Dr. Mamat's career has been marked by steady progression and diverse roles. He began as a House Officer at Kuala Lumpur Hospital in 2003 and has since held positions at various hospitals, including Selayang Hospital and University Malaya Medical Centre. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a lecturer and clinical specialist at the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM, contributing to the education of future medical professionals. His international experience includes a stint as a Fellow in Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia from 2011 to 2013. From 2016 to 2022, he took on a leadership role as the Head of Department and Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Gleneagles Medini in Johor. Currently, he serves as a Consultant Cardiac Anaesthesiologist at Sunway Medical Centre Velocity in Kuala Lumpur, specializing in cardiac care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mamat has demonstrated a strong commitment to humanitarian causes. He has participated in numerous medical missions, including responses to natural disasters in Nepal (2015) and the Philippines (2014). His dedication to providing medical care in challenging environments is evident in his service in conflict zones, including Gaza, Palestine (2024) and Afghanistan (2021). He regularly volunteers with organizations like MERCY Malaysia and Hospital Beyond Boundaries, extending his medical expertise to communities in need around the world.

Dr. Mamat's contributions to medicine and literature have been recognized through various awards. He received Excellent Service Awards from UiTM in 2010 and 2013, acknowledging his dedication to medical education. His literary talents have also been celebrated, with multiple MPH Best Book Awards for his works in Malay literature from 2015 to 2017. In 2021, he was named Volunteer of the Year for his COVID-19 response efforts in Sabah, highlighting his commitment to public health during the global pandemic.

On a personal note, Dr. Mamat is married with six children. He is multilingual, fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. His diverse skill set, including Advanced Wilderness First Aid, reflects his adventurous spirit and readiness to serve in challenging environments.
